Rough Trade Project - The Legacy of Asgard (MCU)

This was my project for the April challenge on Rough Trade. I thought, back when I was first contemplating writing a sequel to The Captain America Effect, that I'd be re-writing the original Avengers movie. The problem was, I loved that movie and can't really find a whole lot in it that I'd want to rewrite, so I figured the sequel would never happen. Then, out of the blue, I had the idea to base the sequel on Thor instead. Boom.

This sequel will make a whole lot more sense if you've read The Captain America Effect, but it won't, strictly speaking, be necessary. Just knowing that Steve is a Sentinel and that Maria is his guide should be enough to get started.

Update (2/15/21): I decided that this story was really three different stories trying to be a single one, and therefore none of it was working. So, I've split up the stories and posted two of the three online. I may yet post the third, but it'll have to go through some extensive rewrites before I do.

Exit Strategies is roughly the first third of the original story.

The Legacy of Asgard is roughly the last third of the original story.
